Notarial and Private Client Practice

I am a Notary Public and deal with the notarisation and legalisation of all legal paperwork for use abroad/outside the United Kingdom. As a Malaysian, I am able to translate documentation into/from the Malay language.

I also specialise in estates with foreign elements and with the resealing of foreign Grants. Other areas of practice include Court of Protection work, powers of attorneys, trusts, and tax.

I am a Director of FBarnes Solicitors and specialise in private client work with 20 years experience. I have a strong knowledge of wills and probate and am a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners). My main area of practice is probate and estate administration.

 

NOTARY: DEFINITION

 

Notarisation is a formal procedure for what the Notary states and certifies which will be relied upon and recognised throughout the world.

 

The primary work of a notary public is to prepare documents; formally witness the execution of documents; authenticate the contents of documents and administer oaths and declarations. By this process, the Notary attempts to make the document acceptable to and therefore receivable by foreign jurisdictions.
